28 June 2010
GAO RFID Inc. (www.GAORFID.com) has released this UHF Gen 2 RFID reader/writer designed for enterprise-class management and monitoring. It delivers increased application flexibility via new features such as support for Power over Ethernet (PoE), which simplifies deployment and reduces cost by eliminating the need for AC outlet installation at read points. The innovative RFID reader/writer overcomes cable losses, enables read zone containment and eliminates stray reads.
The UHF Gen 2 RFID reader/writer, model 236015, offers selection of two or four monostatic antenna port configurations which provides added flexibility. It automatically senses environment and configures setting for the best performance. With a compact form factor, the RFID read/write unit enables a wider range of installation options. The RFID reader/writer supports for industry-leading software vendors such as Microsoft and IBM and boasts industry standard application interfaces with support for EPC Global Low Level Reader Protocol (LLRP) v1.0.1. This ISO 18000-6C standard compliant reader/writer allows a maximum receive sensitivity of -82dBm and a return loss of up to 10dB. In addition, dual image partitions ensure smooth transition to new firmware while the reader is still operating.
